The Tele- Oxford Cognitive Screen is a remotely administered version of the Oxford Cognitive Screen useful for chronic stroke and remote clinical services. It is a short yet informative, domain-specific and Aphasia & Neglect friendly screening tool that particularly picks up and evaluates prevalent post stroke cognitive impairments such as hemispatial neglect, apraxia, and problems in reading and writing. Additional standardised adjustments are to be made for aphasia and neglect in this version.
Like the OCS, Tele-OCS is a domain-specific cognitive screen resulting in a cognitive profile, highlighting areas of impairment as well as preserved cognitive abilities to give a more informative outcome than an overall ‘cognition pass/fail’.
The clinical community world-wide has access to the Tele-OCS via a free of charge licence for publicly funded clinical and research use available through the OUI licence portal. Translations are available for the paper OCS which are adaptable to the remote OCS.
